Abstract

The article presents an understanding of Gentile's thought in the light of the question of "concreteness", a central topic in the 20th century's thought. Starting from the reformation of the Hegelian dialectic, Gentile resolves to determine the real universal individual as the subject of actualism. Nevertheless, the article demonstrates that Gentile's actualism is unable to account for actual reality (labour and the space of civil society), but closes the subject and the object, I and the other, life and death in an eternal moment, which has not reality.
