Abstract
The article analyzes some of the most recent critiques dedicated to the subject of rights (communitarian, critical legal studies, critical race theory, multiculturalism, feminism) and aims at recording the instability and structural ambiguity of the contour of rights. The essay demonstrates that the study of the rights theory has become the study of different juridical rights that inhabit law, revealing the difficulties to mediate between the universalism of forms and the pluralism of the subjects; and looks at the question of the tension between the formality of the law and the concrete material instances expressed in the rights' vindication.
