Abstract

The essay takes into account Micheal Sandel's latest work, with special attention on the theoretical developments which have led the author of the wide-known "Liberalism and the limits of Justice" to a partial review of his former communitarism, now closer to the tradition of civic republicanism. The author argues that, despite this enlarged perspective, Sandel cannot meet the challenges raised by concrete political life in twenty-first century America.
