Abstract

The essays takes into the account the ways in which the German political and intellectual world interpreted Vilfredo Pareto's work during the years preceding 1933. According to the Author, both the association of Pareto's thought with Fascism and the interpretation of his diagnosis of the European crisis are to be regarded as a symptom of the deep tensions experienced by German intellectuals in the years preceding the collapse of the Weimar Republic.
