Abstract
Following Cesare Luporini's analysis, the essay discusses the relationship between the political subject and the subject of desire. This relationship, which is foundamental in the theory of sexual difference and in the more recent developments of lacanian psycho analysis, is forcluded by Modern political theory, thus reproducing the original forclu¬sion of the Modern Political. The author discusses the consequences of this forclusion in the analysis of the political anthropology of contemporary democracies.
