Abstract
The essay presents and discusses some unpublished letters between Reinhart Koselleck and Carl Schmitt (1953-1980). These letters show that Koselleck's first approach (particularly his critique of historicism and the codification of an ontology of history) derives from a particular reception of Schmitt's thought, but also that he progressively acquires an authonomous theoretical perspective, partially divergent from Schmitt's one.
