Abstract

In this paper two cases of free indirect speech are discussed, which are contained in two poems of Giovanni Pascoli - "Il bolide" and "Il ritratto" - published in his collection "Canti di Castelvecchio" (1903). The author suggests a new interpretation of the verses through a word-by-word analysis and with the help of the two poems' genetic variants.
