Abstract
The work starts with observations concerning some texts containing morphological and syntactic elements typical of the type of simplified Italian known as Lingua Franca. This is the basis for a critical analysis of the themes and problems relating to this form of communication. These little-known materials highlight the difficulty in recognizing the phenomenon of Lingua Franca with a statute as a stabilised pidgin.
