This essay examines the artistic collaboration between Roberto Roversi, a notable epic-civil poet and critical interlocutor of figures like Pasolini, Fortini, Sciascia, and Calvino, and Lucio Dalla, a prominent contemporary singersongwriter. It focuses on their joint creation of approximately forty songs that vividly portray both contemporary and historical Italian history through striking imagery and evocative verses. These works are essential for historians, cultural scholars, and enthusiasts of poetry and Italian art song, offering rich insights into the intersection of literature and music in Italian culture.
