Abstract

The aim of this work is to analyse the short film A Therapy, directed by Roman Polanski (2012) as an advertisement for the famous fashion house Prada. The spot is set in a consulting room, right at the beginning of the psychoanalytic session. This short film shows considerable delicacy in describing a situation of clinical impasse caused by the development of a fetishist attitude by the analyst towards the advertised object: the patient's fur coat. Due to its shortness, the film allows a methodical observation and a detailed description of its several expressive and relational aspects.
