Abstract
The essay examines Carlo Emilio Gadda's onomastic practices in the early work "Racconto italiano di ignoto del novecento", published posthumously by Dante Isella. In particular, it aims to show how numerous names and sur-names in the novel are autobiographical projections and reflect the author's Freudian 'family romance'.
