Abstract
The essay is an unpublished text by Franco De Faveri, who died in 2014. It analyses the 'use of the secret language' in Giancarlo Consonni's first poetry collection ("Lumbardia", 1983), by showing how the 'great economy of expres-sive means' corresponds to incisive images and frequent oxymorons, with the aim of placing words in close relationship with silence.
