Abstract
Code practices by default change together with the development of the relevant discipline, the updating of societal frames of reference and the moulding of social, cultural and judicial constructs. The Code practice for Italian Psychologists was launched in1998; it has remained virtually unaltered to date. Several arguments call for its updating. Professional and academic bodies should openly discuss its upgrading and compare their respective stance to come to a shared document, aiming at guiding the activities of psychologists as well as steering the course of Psychology for the next future.
