Abstract
The current study presents the Italian adaptation and validation of the mostly used questionnaire (Children’s Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire, CRSQ) for the measurement of Rejection Sensitivity (RS) in children and adolescents. The results, obtained on a population of 654 preadolescents (Mage = 12.24; SD = .99; 50.9% females), confirmed the two-factor structure of the original questionnaire (Anxious and Angry Rejection Sensitivity), and the factors’ internal consistency. The factors were also found to be inversely related to the positive quality of friendship, and directly related to conflicts with friends. Moreover, solid scores of measurement invariance between males and females were also obtained, allowing comparisons between these groups
