Abstract
Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, mental health professionals have been required to adopt self-protective measures and civil responsibility consistently with the Law Decrees concerning the containment of contagion by means of social distancing. Thus, increased use of telepsychiatry and telepsychotherapy was noticeable. This paper focuses on the skills required to psychiatrists and psychotherapists, as well as patients, to carry on telemental health interventions during severe epidemics such as the one caused by Coronavirus. The following skills are identified and discussed: basic skills, specialist skills, and specialist skills necessary to carry out tele mental health interventions.
