Abstract
Starting in 2020, Italian organizations have dealt with the unprecedented challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic, which introduced new risks to employee health and safety. This research aimed to analyze the influence of job resources – in terms of adequacy of organizational measures, effectiveness of internal communication, and safety leadership – and personal resources, such as Psychological Capital, in promoting safe behaviors in response to the pandemic crisis. The cross-sectional survey, conducted by questionnaire on a sample of 123 workers from three different companies in Northern Italy, revealed two key aspects: first, a significant and positive association between job resources and Covid-related safety performance; second, Psychological Capital as a mediator between the resources considered and the adoption of safe behaviors. These findings open up new ways for future research developments and suggest possible interventions to strengthen organizational safety during times of crisis
