Abstract

The present study investigated the relationship between mood and narration of positive and negative events in children. Positive or negative mood was induced in 5 to 7 years old children, and then they narrated two personal events, either positive or negative. Results indicated the presence of a mood congruence effect for global intensity, and the effect was asymmetrical. Mood affected also the presence of mental states, emotion antecedents and causal attribution. Results were discussed in the light of theories and literature findings, and encourage further studies.
