Abstract

This study reviews research on influence of induced mood on social behavior and cognition in children in published literature. Some studies deal with influence of mood on social behavior, such as help, delay of gratification and persistence in a task. Others are related to influence of mood on cognitive aspects such as memory, judgement, cognitive organization, reactions to facial expressions and language acquisition. Methodological differences among studies and importance of future theoretical approaches specific for children are stressed.
