Abstract
Females, homosexual males and feminine subjects seem more prone to develop eating disorders and body dissatisfaction. However results of studies investigating this topic are not consistent. The present paper describes a study aimed at evaluating this relationship in a group of homosexual and in a group of heterosexual males and females, all members of associations. Subjects were requested to fill some questionnaires in, investigating disordered eating and body dissatisfaction. Results of group comparisons and multiple regression analyses evidenced that females and homosexuals (both males and females) are most at risk. On the contrary, femininity exhibit a protective effect on those variables.
