Abstract
This study presents some psychometric properties and normative data for two largely applied instruments, the CBCL/6-18 and the TRF/6-18, for Italian 8- to 11-year-old children attending 3rd to 6th grades. Results showed satisfactory internal consistency levels for most CBCL/6-18 and TRF/6-18 scales; high test-retest correlations (over an interval of 3 months) for the CBCL/6-18, but moderate for the TRF/6- 18; very low to moderate parent/teacher agreement correlations. Results from confirmatory factor analyses supported the Achenbach two latent factor model organizing the 8 CBCL/6-18 and TRF/6-18 narrowband syndromes into two broadband domains, namely Internalizing problems and Externalizing problems. In summary, the results of this study conducted on an Italian sample are in agreement with findings observed for the original versions of the two instruments.
