Abstract
The aim of the present work was to adapt the Student-Teacher Relationship Questionnaire by Murray and Greenberg to the Italian population integrating two different adapting methods: the Classic one (CCT) and the Item Response Theory (IRT ). The participants were 129 children attending the forth grade of elementary school (70 males and 59 females) and 705 children attending the fifth grade (361 males e 344 females). Both CTT and IRT highlight that the proposed questionnaire has good metrical characteristic and it can be used both for operative and for research purposes.
