Abstract
The couple psychotherapy is widely disseminated and a general agreement among researchers regarding its effectiveness seems to be. This study, based on the PRISMA Statement and conducted on 15 database, assessed, through AMSTAR Checklist, the methodological quality of the systematic reviews including meta-analysis, that investigated only the couple psychotherapy. Studies considered assessing the effectiveness in relation to any outcomes and couples characteristic. The results, showing as a whole a moderate quality of the included studies, also highlight the areas of application and intervention less disseminated, promoting the study of these areas in future research. Limitations and implications of the study are discussed.
