Abstract
This study aims to investigate the psychometric properties of the Italian version of the Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ-L3) and to validate it using both a clinical and a nonclinical sample (1112 subjects). The YSQ-L3 is a self-report questionnaire consisting of 232 items developed to assess the Early Maladaptive Schemas (EMSs) and the schema domains. The factor analysis didn't support the 18 EMSs structure, showing an unifactorial structure of the questionnaire. We discussed the clinical and theoretical implication of this result, in the light of the usefulness of this selfreport instrument for the clinical practice.
