Abstract

This survey analyzes the policies implemented by the Italian Government to relaunch the Italian labour market. The analysis is conducted following the red thread of support for transition processes and follows two lines of research: 1) support for production transitions, aimed at accompanying the transformation processes of production cycles and the organizational structures of companies; 2) support for employment transitions and labour market efficiency policies at sectoral and territorial level. The Author, after summarizing the major transformations in the labour market connected to ecological and digital transitions, analyzes the most recent interventions in the field of social safety nets and active labour and training policies related to the implementation of the NPRR. The conclusion reached by the Author is that only by recognizing an increasingly incisive role of national States and European institutions in the governance of industrial policies, a structural impact on the old and new inequalities produced or increased by the pandemic is achievable.
