Abstract
Starting from Alessandra Pescarolo’s Il lavoro delle donne nell’Italia contemporanea, this paper analyzes the thematization of the relationship between women and work, focusing in particular on the emancipatory significance that was (or was not) attributed to work and the role played by references to the principle of equality.
