Abstract
The paper offers a brief snapshot of the contemporary situation of women’s work, paying particular attention to the social norm of dual presence. It then traces the vicissitudes of family care work through Alessandra Pescarolo’s reconstruction of the establishment of the male breadwinner model, and finally reflects on the current context from the perspective of the regulatory techniques adopted to protect and promote women’s work, with particular attention to the measures taken to facilitate the reconciliation of work and family life
