Abstract
Fifty years after La disciplina costituzionale della proprietà. Lezioni introduttive, the author reflects on Giovanni Tarello’s ideal and ideological approach to property and reconstructs his more or less hidden assessments of the Italian reforms (implemented or attempted) and judgments of the Italian Constitutional Court on property issues. However, an examination of constitutional case-law alone is not always able to explain why certain legal policy trends were pursued to the detriment of others
