Abstract
The essay focuses on Law No. 12 of 2006 that integrated the provisions of Law No. 400 of 1988 in the field of the execution of ECtHR judgments. The duties of the President of the Council of Ministers regarding the promotion of the related fulfillments that fall under the competence of the Government are examined, as well as its information obligations towards the Parliament, concretely carried out through the Department of legal and legislative affairs of the Presidency of the Council. Taking into account the reasons underlying the regulation at issue, it is found that in line with art. 95 of the Constitution the position of the President within the Government is so enhanced. Also the connections with the Parliament reflect a balance between the Executive and the representative body consistent with the essential features of the Italian form of government.
