Abstract
The Italian Constitution has deeply influenced the development of Italian administrative law, while at the same time the institutional and economic crisis has hindered the effective constitutionalisation of the administrative praxis. The paper deals with the consequences of these crises and in particular with the issue of economic barriers to access to the administrative courts, as well as the underestimation of the democratic principle in some areas of administrative law. The article highlights the need for a re-evaluation of the Constitution in order to overcome the problems currently encountered in the Italian public administration.
