Abstract
The contribution provides a comparative analysis of the evolution that the normative provisions concerning the implementation of the principle of transparency have undergone in Italy and in Spain. With that object, the author first retraces the origin of the principle of transparency as an instrument for preventing and fighting against corruption, going on to examine the constitutional dictate on transparency in the Italian and Spanish system. She next analyses the legal setup ofthe two main instruments for the implementation of the principle of transparency - the right of access to administrative documents and the obligations of publication - in Italy and in Spain, pointing out the salient differences and similarities.).
