Abstract
Mutual collaboration, provided for by art. 1 of the Villa Madama Agreement, has today assumed the caliber of a general principle, as a specific expression of the solidarity enshrined in the Constitution (Article 2). Consequently, it also animates the interactions between the Italian authorities and the Catholic Church in judicial matters. Especially, the scourge of the abuses committed by clerics against minors has led the Church to launch a battle based on collaboration with the secular authorities
