Abstract
The study of the normative processes derived from the bioethical debate is a good tool for evaluating the influence of religion on the technoscientific society. It reveals complex and varying combinations which may greatly differ from one religion to another, from one geocultural area to another, and from one time to another. But in most cases, it stresses that religions and churches still contribute, though not prominently, to the human search for meaning in life.
