Abstract
The paper aims to reconstruct the parliamentary debate that led to the adoption of the Italian law on Assisted Reproductive Technology (n. 40/2004). It especially seeks to determine whether Catholic associations, as well as the «Movimento per la Vita», influenced the content of this law, by stating the Church's teaching on this matter.
