Abstract
This essay outlines and explains the many issues raised by the recent reform of the canonical process for the declaration of nullity of marriage made by Pope Francis. This paper identifies the interpretative doubts that arise in theory and shows the difficulties in applying the process that will emerge in the Italian Church, but also around the world. Critical attention to this matter will hopefully be justified by the prospect of a possible change, or an authoritative clarification of the legislation currently in force.
