Abstract
The paper presents a reform of Canon Law along the lines proposed by Pope Francis. It challenges the idea of Canon Law as a discipline in significant development. It rather supports the thesis of a decline of Canon Law, also due to the resistance against actual reform attempts. It supports the need to renew the Canon law beyond the constrictions of tradition to help the Church to come out of itself and start moving toward the peripheries of society.
