Abstract

Pope Francis has presented synodality as the major organizational principle of the Roman Catholic Church. The article analyzes institutions in the three levels the Pope mentioned: the Particular Churches (Diocesan Synod), the Ecclesiastical Provinces and Regions (Particular Councils, Episcopal Conferences) and the Universal Church (Synod of Bishops). It seeks to understand the sense and the impact of synodality by examining its concrete applications in order to show the limits.
