Abstract
The paper examines the characteristics of pilgrimages and religious tourism and their impact on local economy. Pilgrimage is a very important act of worship according to all world religions. Religious tourism is a sector of tourism growing up year after year, and it is a sustainable way of travelling. In the time after the Covid-19 crisis, religious tourism could be a model for the entire touristic sector.
