Abstract
The paper describes the situation of non-standard workers under the Polish system of social protection. The crucial notion of non-standard labour is defined in reference to the standard model of employment. The rights of non standard workers are described within the realm of the social insurance and general health insurance branches. Additionally the access of non standard workers to occupational pension schemes is presented. The paper deals also with the employment promotion comprising active forms of combating unemployment as well as poverty and social exclusion. Within the context of active labour market policy new legislative proposals concerning social care work and charity work in the non profit sector are dealt with. The different aspects of the regulation of the social protection of non standard workers and necessity of changes have been briefly indicated.
