Abstract

The essay analyzes the territorial negotiation practices related to corporate welfare, distinguishing those intended to support corporate choices, in particular of SMEs, through the development of homogeneous operational models and those aimed at promoting a positive, dynamic and circular relationship between corporate schemes and local development, from a perspective of social and economic sustainability and more radical permeability of the border between company and territory. Trade union action in the definition of local welfare has deep roots in the varied experiences of territorial negotiation of recent decades. The pandemic experience has given it renewed vitality and strengthened the participatory and cooperative approach to trade union action. The wide network of relationships promoted by territorial negotiation practices can accompany but not replace the protection network offered by a universal welfare system, capable of reducing the protection differentials related to the conditions of organizational and financial maturity of the territorial areas, sectors production and of the individual companies themselves
