Abstract
The author analyzes the referendum proposal of the CGIL aimed at the repeal of some parts of the regulatory provisions governing the affixing of the term to the employment contract in Legislative Decree No. 81/2015, in order to legitimize its use exclusively for temporary and specific reasons. The author enhances the value of the referendum question both for the promotion of job stability and, more generally, for the revitalization of democratic processes, while being aware that it is a first step for a subsequent and necessary comprehensive review of the institution.
