Abstract
The author traces the history of the variable "productivity" pay in the system of labor relations in order to verify its contents and functions, particularly in the framework established according to the multi-sectoral agreement recently - 28 June 2011 - signed unitarily by the big union confederation Cgil, Cisl, Uil and the industrial employers representation Confindustria.
