Abstract

The Author comments on the new Italian Act n. 469/1997, which has completely changed the forms of public intervention in labour market, establishing new responsibilities of local authorities. The Author tries to anticipate the new attitude of local administrations towards labour market and to foresee the opportunities of a real improvement in its organisation and efficiency. The analysis of the new Act shows the problems which could affect the action of local authorities, with regard to the first statutes enacted by Italian Regions to implement the general provisions of the Act n. 469/1997.
