Abstract
The Author analyses the redundancy procedures in one of the sector not covered by the discipline of social protection of redundant workers, that is the railways sector. He describes the working of the Social Fund for redundancies created by collective agreements authorised by the law. In particular, he analyses the efficacy of collective agreements on redundancies and the criteria of choice of redundant workers in this sector. He compares this discipline with that of Act n. 223 of 1991 and also analyses the kind of model set through collective agreements.
