Abstract

The author has been co-ordinator of a Commission established at the Italian Ministry of labour with the aim to study the possible drawing up of a consolidated text of pension legislation. The author describes the different phases of the work of the Commission, the main problems which had been tackled and the most significant characteristics of the text finally elaborated. The text was submitted to the Minister in early summer 1999, for the final wording, which was out of the competence of the Commission, and which never took place.
