Abstract
In the essay, the author deals with the complexity of the functions currently assigned to trade unions in the Italian system. The analysis of this complexity leads the author to a rethinking of the present situation of regulative anomie about the subjective structure, the organization and the activity of trade unions; from this starting point, the author argues the possibility of a heteronomous intervention in this field also legitimized by the art. 39 of the Constitution.
