Abstract
The paper focuses on the impact of the age factor in the labour market and in the employment relationship. It deals with the search of a sustainable balance between individual protections related to the increase of the maximum working age - oriented toward a retirement age at 70 years - and the needs of generational turn-over, particularly in times of economic crisis and serious youth unemployment.
