Abstract
The essay aims to propose a reading of autonomous work different from the current one: self-employment is part of the labor law, although historically the labor law has only occupied subordinate work. The new law on the protection of self-employment (81/2017) confirms the traditional opposing view of subordinate work and self-employment, by providing a series of contractual safeguards typical of the most recent legislation on the protection of the lowly counterpart, confirming the accreditation of self-employment between the ordinary contract law.
