Abstract
In 2020, with sentence no. 130, Constitutional Court declared unfounded the question of constitutionality of the law of the Sicily Region 24/2018, which makes changes to a previous urban planning law (13/2015) in order to simplify the procedures for the recovery of the building heritage in the old tows of the Region. The decision provides an opportunity to reflect on the legal notion of the historic center and on the tools that the legal system prepares to protect these parts of the city.
