Abstract

The impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic have shown how the absence of a strengthened network of territorial health care has been at the core of the population’s tendency to turn en masse to hospitals unable to cope with such a growing demand for care. In Valle d’Aosta, health planning focused on coordination between hospital and territorial structures now finds perspectives for reform both in DGR No. 1343 of Dec. 14, 2020, which implements the National Prevention Plan 2020-2025, and, above all, in the almost completed approval of the new Regional Plan for Health and Social Wellbeing, a multi-year planning tool aimed at defining the goals to be achieved by the Region-Local Health Authority-Local Authorities system and which will substitute the one planned for the biennium 2011-2013 and so far never updated.
