Abstract

The silence of the State law on assisted suicide now coexists with the duty of the health service to respect the rights of people who request it. Indeed, Constitutional Court ruling No. 242 of 2019 defines precise rights that require equally precise fulfilments by the public health service. This opens a space for regional laws to intervene to regulate how the health administration fulfils its duties.
